GUNVOR is a versatile artist who captivates with voice, heart, and charisma. She became known through the Eurovision Song Contest and is celebrated today for her powerful live performances, heartfelt ballads, musical projects, and her tireless dedication to music, culture, and family.
The Love of Music – From the Very Beginning
Born in 1974, GUNVOR was practically born into music. As a teenager, she discovered her first passion: tap dance. While other children met at the outdoor pool, she trained shufflesteps and choreographies – successfully. At 16, she became Swiss champion in tap dance (solo & formation). She was a seven-time Swiss champion, won numerous awards, and in 1994, placed 5th in the world championship duo.
The musical world of Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin, and Frank Sinatra shaped her as much as dance icons like Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire. This early foundation of rhythm, discipline, and stage experience is still evident in every one of her performances.
ESC & Musicals – Stage Open for GUNVOR
In 1997, GUNVOR won the Golden Microphone and the Golden Spotlight from Radio DRS – a national award for young musical talents. That same year, she secured her place in the Swiss national selection for Eurovision Song Contest. With her original composition “Lass ihn”, she represented Switzerland in Birmingham, UK, in 1998 before a million audience.
2003/2004 she appeared as Crissy in the cult musical HAIR – in Basel, at the BEA Bern Expo, and in the Maag Music Hall Zurich. Other musical engagements followed, including Storm and Zeppelin.
International Collaboration & Creative Diversity
Since 2017, GUNVOR has been working with renowned Hollywood producer Jens Gad (including Enigma). Together, they realized the album 001 – A Tribute to James Bond, the children's musical The Little Mats, and the dance project GUNVOR Dance School.
She also offers personalized songwriting for artists, events, or companies – from a personal wedding song to a corporate jingle.
Live & with Heart – GUNVOR on Stage
GUNVOR is a sought-after live singer for weddings, corporate events, balls, or private celebrations. Her repertoire ranges from emotional ballads to swing and James Bond songs to party hits from the 70s to today.
Whether as a soloist, in a duo with cellist/DJ Roland, or with a full band – each concert is personally tailored. Requests, individual program points, even horn or tap dance courses are possible. She also reads and sings live from The Little Mats for children.
