Stadtcasino Basel Music Hall

The heart of Stadtcasino Basel is undoubtedly the concert hall from 1876. Its acoustics are among the best in the world. In addition to the proportions of the space, the rich furnishings of the hall also play a crucial role in this regard. Many of the interior architectural elements chosen by architect Johann Jakob Stehlin as a representative of historicism resemble baroque hall buildings. Stucco, crystal chandeliers, cornices, and portraits of famous composers create an exceptionally special atmosphere and at the same time ensure optimal diffusion of sound.

Depending on the stage size, the concert hall offers between 1,191 and 1,397 seats, of which 468 are on the balcony.
