Le Baron Restaurant
About us
Bespoke group menus in a historic house
Our kitchen is guided by the products available and the changing seasons. Two tasting menus are at the heart of our offering and evolve with the season. In addition to the tasting menu, you will discover a dedicated cheese menu, where Gruyère, Vacherin and other cheeses take centre stage. Homemade ravioli and gnocchi are also part of our current menu offerings. This allows you to shape your visit as a shared culinary journey of discovery.
For our ingredients, we select suppliers as close to home as possible. It is important to us to value the region and handle the food we process daily with care. We also select our beverages to match this philosophy and each menu; they accompany you through the meal.
Our building has been a place of hospitality for five centuries. It was rebuilt and extended in 1803 and has served throughout its history, amongst other things, for the storage and maturation of Alpine Gruyère. Today we welcome you here for an enjoyable moment of conviviality and friendship. For groups, we discuss your desired menu and the organisation of your event individually with you.

Reviews
On recommande !!!
We had a great experience at Le Baron. The place is ran by a lovely couple who took over since January 2026. Their menu is simple yet sophisticated and perfectly executed. We had the choice between the hunter menu and a menu around local farm cheese. We chose both and were absolutely not disappointed! Their use of local produces and local cheeses from the area was excellent. Le Baron managed to turn traditional farm dishes into a gastronomic experience. A lovely experience and an unforgettable evening in Charmey!
