Coffee City Tour

Once frowned upon and forbidden, the enjoyment of "black water" was only possible illegally. Oriental travellers brought coffee to Europe in the 17th century. However, in Zurich, the beverage was known only by hearsay for a long time. As awareness grew, coffee was banned by the guilds, as it was said to confuse the mind. From the 20th century onwards, however, a vibrant and diverse coffee house culture with big city flair developed in the city on the Limmat. Urs Schindler shows participants the historic coffee venues during a leisurely city walk, where lovers of cultivated caffeine consumption like to linger. The three-hour tour offers comprehensive insights into the world of coffee - from processing to trade to the significance of coffee in today's times. Urs Schindler takes participants to various coffee houses and brings them closer to the enjoyment of coffee. Coffee and refreshments are included in the price.
