Bietschhornhütte

For your mountain tours at Bietschhorn, we offer you simple mountain hut accommodation in an alpine setting. Our Bietschhornhütte is located at approximately 2,568 metres in a hollow beneath Bietschjoch and Schafbärg. It serves as a starting point for tours to Bietschhorn and Wilerhorn, to Schafbärg, and for crossings into Bietschtal and to Baltschiederklause. During regular operation, 22 beds are available for your overnight stay; reserve your place in advance and bring your own hut sleeping bag and pillowcase.

You can reach us on foot from Lötschental. For the ascent from Wiler, you should allow approximately three and a half to four hours. The provisional approach route leads through Obre Wald and over Tännerra; pay attention to the current route and markings. Our hut offers mobile phone network coverage, but no electric lighting. Please take your rubbish back down to the valley. You can also combine your hut stay with a contribution to supplies and carry hut wood available along the way in your rucksack.

We are currently closed and not staffed. The accessible winter room serves exclusively as emergency shelter in case of emergency; water, gas and wood are not available there. Regular reopening with staffing is planned for approximately mid-June 2027 and depends on conditions.
