Reviews
Endroit magnifique et sympathique
First of all welcome was like a friend or almost family member . Everything else after was no suprise after so good first day. The host is excelent and cares deeply about guests - great contact all the time . Breakfast on terrace was perfect - couldnt ask for anything better really . Warm welcome from Poland and thank you for hospitality !
I don't write many reviews but, sitting here a week after my alpine adventure and in a mood of reflection, I must say what a nice stay I had at Berginsel. I was doing the Chamonix to Zermatt trek and wanted to stay somewhere quieter than Hotel Schwarzon as I had heard it can be very crowded there and perhaps not so comfortable. As a solo hiker, I really appreciated the warm welcome from Lisi who was so incredibly kind. Truly a special person in this world. The meals were delicious and filling, and the rooms were spotless. I had a relaxing time here and a peaceful sleep. There is a bus that goes from Gruben to Oberems and back so it is an easy detour (have a beer or two at the hotel while you wait). I would highly recommend staying at Berginsel.
